Stryker gives an account of the Icelandic debt crisis of 2008, and of the nation’s subsequent resistance to neoliberal austerity measures. [Note: this article includes serious errors of fact. For example, it states that Iceland is a member of the European Union, and that Iceland (the nation) went bankrupt. Neither of these claims is true. See Anna Andersen’s ‘A deconstruction of “Iceland’s on-going revolution”’ and Peter Geoghegan’s “Icelandic myths” for critiques and factual corrections.]
